It’s Just Not Christmas Without Bacon-ing Everything

Those closest to me know I LOVE a few things in this world: Environmental awareness, New Girl and everything else Zooey Deschanel, and BACON! Bacon is my guilty pleasure, my muse, my vice, my passion. Okay… I like bacon. So I decided to bacon up this Christmas. Bacon smoked appetizers will transition my guests quite nicelyinto the main course of bacon-wrapped Ham. Did I mention I was serving bacon? But seriously, if you don’t like thecrsipitycrunchity goodness of a well-done piece of bacon, I just don’t know if we can be friends.

P.S.- a little gift to myself for the holiday season. Third gift on the right… do I have a problem?

Recycle Your Old iPhone for an Apple Gift Card.

Apple Recycling Program

Reuse and Recycling Program

The online wizard lets you select the model, color and condition of your iPhone 4S, and will then provide an estimated value of the device. Naturally, its value diminishes if there are scratches, water damage and other issues.

If you agree and are able to send the power cable along with it, Apple’s recycling partners will then send you a gift certificate, which can be redeemed against a new purchase on its online store.
Perfect, if you’re waiting for the new iPhone to launch and don’t want that cash burning a hole in your pocket.

Reuse and Recycling extends to other Apple devices, including iPads, Macs and even PC computers. If your device qualifies after being sent in for assessment, the gift card you receive can be used at any Apple retail and online store. If not, the company says it will recycle it for you at no cost.

Other third-party retailers, such as eBay, also sell the iPhone 4S. A quick look at the site shows the device going for much higher prices, often upwards of $500.

iPhoneV Photos, iPad Mini Leaks, and...!!!

Could The iPhone 5 Be Released On August 7th?
For months now, we've been hearing that the next iPhone will be released near the end of September or beginning of October. But could Apple really have pushed up the unveiling to August 7th, or just under two months from now? That's what tech blog KnowYourMobile.com insists, anyway: That according to "a reliable industry source," Apple will raise the curtain on the iPhone on the 7th of August, far earlier than expected.
Increase in Size
Sources have predicted that the next installment of iPhone will have a 4-inch display. A bigger display will improve the user experience, as long as the device still fits easily into a coat pocket, or the back pocket of a pair of tight jeans. Apparently, if the rumors of a larger display are true, it could force the company to cut back on a release date.
Dock Connector
Rumors have been published that the new iPhone will have a completely different dock connector—giving up its 30-pin port for a 19-pin one to save space. This could be a convenience issue for consumers who have accessories made for the old port. Will it require users to purchase all new accessories? Yes. Is that a hassle? Of course, but not that huge a hassle. For Apple, it means a cut of the revenues that accessory manufacturers will enjoy. Do I like this? Not really, but it won’t bother me as long as the new 19-pin docking and charging accessories are not overly expensive. I do, however, expect to get one for free should I buy the new phone.

Check out this chart: It's how the iPad Mini, with the reported 7.85-inch display, would size up compared to the current iPad, Amazon's Kindle Fire, and Google's Nexus 7 (the latter two, of course, are the $199 7-inch tablets that an iPad Mini would seek to compete against and wipe out). This handy comparison comes via the Twitter account of one TrojanKitten.

13-Inch Retina MacBook Pro Coming This Fall?
Apple's already got a big bad super-gorgeous-and-expensive 15-inch Retina display MacBook Pro; but here's a riddle: What if you want that beautiful screen but don't need all 15 inches of real estate? Your wait for a smaller Retina display MacBook may soon be over, friend! Wild and wacky Taiwanese trade publication Digitimes claims that a 13-inch MacBook Pro could be out before October.
