iPhoneV Photos, iPad Mini Leaks, and...!!!

Could The iPhone 5 Be Released On August 7th?
For months now, we've been hearing that the next iPhone will be released near the end of September or beginning of October. But could Apple really have pushed up the unveiling to August 7th, or just under two months from now? That's what tech blog KnowYourMobile.com insists, anyway: That according to "a reliable industry source," Apple will raise the curtain on the iPhone on the 7th of August, far earlier than expected.
Increase in Size
Sources have predicted that the next installment of iPhone will have a 4-inch display. A bigger display will improve the user experience, as long as the device still fits easily into a coat pocket, or the back pocket of a pair of tight jeans. Apparently, if the rumors of a larger display are true, it could force the company to cut back on a release date.
Dock Connector
Rumors have been published that the new iPhone will have a completely different dock connector—giving up its 30-pin port for a 19-pin one to save space. This could be a convenience issue for consumers who have accessories made for the old port. Will it require users to purchase all new accessories? Yes. Is that a hassle? Of course, but not that huge a hassle. For Apple, it means a cut of the revenues that accessory manufacturers will enjoy. Do I like this? Not really, but it won’t bother me as long as the new 19-pin docking and charging accessories are not overly expensive. I do, however, expect to get one for free should I buy the new phone.

Check out this chart: It's how the iPad Mini, with the reported 7.85-inch display, would size up compared to the current iPad, Amazon's Kindle Fire, and Google's Nexus 7 (the latter two, of course, are the $199 7-inch tablets that an iPad Mini would seek to compete against and wipe out). This handy comparison comes via the Twitter account of one TrojanKitten.

13-Inch Retina MacBook Pro Coming This Fall?
Apple's already got a big bad super-gorgeous-and-expensive 15-inch Retina display MacBook Pro; but here's a riddle: What if you want that beautiful screen but don't need all 15 inches of real estate? Your wait for a smaller Retina display MacBook may soon be over, friend! Wild and wacky Taiwanese trade publication Digitimes claims that a 13-inch MacBook Pro could be out before October.

Pulling the Plug on VH1, CMT, AND COMEDY CENTRAL!

WHY DIRECT TV?! WHY?!
I JUST TRANSFERRED OVER !!!

On Monday night and into Tuesday morning, the dispute was publicized by both sides, first by Viacom, which warned DirecTV customers that they could lose access to Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and its other cable channels early Wednesday morning because contract talks with DirecTV had “reached an impasse.” DirecTV, in turn, said in a statement that it had offered Viacom “increased fees for their networks going forward; we just can’t afford the extreme increases they are asking for.”

On Tuesday evening, neither company publicly commented on the status of the contract negotiations, suggesting that a channel blackout was still possible after midnight Eastern time on Wednesday.

Some of the 17 channels are well known among customers: Nickelodeon, MTV, VH1, BET, CMT, TV Land, Comedy Central, Spike. But some of the others bundled with them are not, including Nick@Nite, Nick Jr., TeenNick, NickToons, VH1 Classic, Logo, Tr3s, Centric and Palladia.

“Programmers like Viacom typically won’t allow anyone to buy their channels individually, but we hope to change that,” DirecTV said in its statement on Tuesday morning. “We currently pay them hundreds of millions of dollars every year already, and if Viacom thinks their networks are worth a billion more, then you have to be able to select what’s most important in your own living room. It’s your money, so you should be able to decide.”
The debate about bundling comes as the practice is being examined by government regulators and lawyers for evidence of anti-competitive behavior. Some regulators are concerned that the practice inhibits innovation by online video upstarts and other companies.

BEST TRAVEL GADGETS OF THE SUMMER!

Sony PlayStation Vita
Even if you don’t play video games, it’s hard not to want to after trying the PlayStation Vita ($300).
The five-inch OLED screen is exceptionally bright and vivid, so you’ll be as fascinated with the images here as you were when you first experienced HDTV. It has built-in 3G connectivity and WiFi for online gaming, or a game can be started on a PlayStation at home, paused and continued on the Vita. It has obligatory apps for the likes of Facebook, Netflix and Foursquare, but you’ll be hooked on the fun and the games—even if you aren’t ready to admit it yet. sony.com

Petzl Nao Headlamp
The Nao ($175) brings predictive technology to camping, using sensors to automatically adjust brightness and beam width based on light conditions and the angle of your head. This makes for better functionality and hugely improved battery life. The beam narrows when focused on a map, conserving energy and directing light just where you want it.

GoPro Hero02
This wearable video camera shoots 1080p hi-definition video and 11-megapixel stills, and is waterproof up to 200 feet. Available accessories let you strap the GoPro ($300) to your helmet or chest, or even to the roof of your car, so whether you’re zip-lining in Costa Rica, mountain biking in Colorado or snorkeling in Kauai, you can capture first-person video with the touch of a button.
Earhero Ear Buds
Popping in headphones for a morning run can help you focus, but it can also keep you from hearing what’s happening around you. Earhero Ear Buds ($149), a technology that, until recently, was sold only to government security agencies, are big on sound but small enough to not fill the entire ear canal, which means you can listen to music while remaining aware of your surroundings.

Garmin Nüvi 3590LMT
Wherever you travel this summer, the Nüvi 3590LMT ($380) will get you there. And thanks to its free lifetime digital 3-D traffic and map updates, it might even get you there faster than other navigation systems (especially if you have an Android phone, which the Nüvi links to using its Internet connection to get traffic updates up to ten times more often than other receivers).
